This policy explains what personal data Bakers CluB, operated by Rohini Bakers (“we”, “us”), collects through thebakersclub.in, why we collect it, who sees it and what choices you have. We handle your data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For the purposes of that Act we are the Data Fiduciary.

1. What we collect

Account details: your name, email address and, if you add it, your phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google. We never see your Google password.
Delivery details: the names, phone numbers and addresses you enter at checkout or save in your address book.
Order details: the items, sizes and flavours you order, any occasion, name or message you want on a cake, your chosen delivery date and slot, the payment method and the order status.
Reviews: the rating, comment and name you choose to submit for a product.
Messages: if you use our WhatsApp or contact links, the messages you send us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp handles them under its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not run advertising trackers or analytics tools on this website. We do not collect payment card numbers. Today orders are paid on delivery; if an online payment option is added, the payment will be handled by an RBI-authorised payment gateway and we will not store your card details.

2. Why we use it

To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
To take, bake, deliver and, where needed, cancel or refund your order, and to contact you about it.
To show approved reviews and reply to them.
To answer your questions and complaints.
To keep accounts, tax and other records we are legally required to keep, and to protect against fraud and misuse.

We use your data for these purposes because you gave it to us for them, or because the law lets us process it for fulfilling your order and meeting legal duties. We do not sell your data. We will not send you promotional messages unless you have separately agreed to receive them, and you can withdraw that agreement at any time.

3. Who else sees it

Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): our website, database, sign-in and photo storage run on Google's infrastructure, so your data is stored and processed there. Google's servers may be located outside India.
Delivery: our staff and delivery partners see your name, phone number, address and order contents so they can deliver it.
Payment gateway: only if and when online payment is offered, and only what is needed to take the payment.
Authorities: when a law, court or government body requires us to share data.

We share only what each party needs for its job, and we do not permit them to use it for their own marketing.

4. Cookies and browser storage

We store the following on your device. The first four are essential: the store cannot work without them, so they do not need your consent.

Cart (local storage, bakersclub_cart): the items in your cart, until you place the order or clear your browser data.
Sign-in session (browser storage set by Firebase Authentication): keeps you signed in until you sign out.
Page position (session storage): remembers where you were on a category page during your visit.
Your choice below (local storage, bakersclub_consent): remembers your answer so we do not ask again.
Google Maps (optional): our Contact page can show an embedded Google Map. Only if you choose to load it does Google set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy. Until then no request is made to Google Maps.

You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie preferences” in the page footer. Your choice is remembered for this browser only.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account exists and delete it when you ask us to. We keep order records for as long as needed to handle refunds and disputes and to meet accounting and tax record-keeping rules; after that they are erased or made anonymous. Data in your cart is only on your device.

6. Keeping it safe

Data travels over encrypted connections. Access to orders and customer details is limited to our authorised staff, and each customer can only read their own orders and saved addresses. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

7. Your rights

You may, at any time:

ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
ask us to correct or complete your data (you can also edit your profile and addresses in My Account);
ask us to erase your data, subject to records we must keep by law;
withdraw a consent you gave, as easily as you gave it;
nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or cannot act for yourself; and
complain to us, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.

Write to our Grievance Officer below. We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and act on it within 30 days.

8. Children

The store is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian's consent. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and its date, and ask again for consent where the law requires it.
